The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Harvest Meats are warning people with an allergy to wheat not to consume Harvest brand Naturally Smoked Summer Sausages. The sausage contains wheat which is not declared on the label.

Distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan

The manufacturer, Havest Meats, is voluntarily recalling the affected product with CFIA monitoring.

So far there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product, however consumption may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with an allergy to wheat proteins.
