The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Hempola Inc. are warning people with allergies to wheat and gluten (coeliac/celiac disease) not to consume Hempola brand Gluten Free Hempseed Flour. The affected product may contain wheat gluten which is not declared on the label.

All lot codes of Hempola brand Gluten Free Hempseed Flour with the following details are affected by this alert:

454 g packages
UPC 6 23188 78923 1

The manufacturer, Hempola Inc., Barrie, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. This product has been distributed nationally and there has been one reported allergic reaction associated with consumption of this product so far.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to wheat.
