Dunkin' Donuts to offer gluten free donuts & muffins

Another franchise announces their first gluten free item. Dunkin' Donuts, in the US, have a announced they will be introducing gluten free donuts and muffins in participating stores by the end of 2013.

The donuts and muffins will be certified gluten free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization, prepared in a dedicated gluten free facility, and individually packaged to avoid any cross-contamination issues.

According to Dunkin' Donuts both items have been extensively tested, and have received the thumbs up from customers who are following a gluten free diet, or simply reducing consumption of gluten containing products.

Unfortunately for Canadian donut lovers, Dunkin' Donuts in Canada don't appear to have any current plans to follow the US by introducing gluten free products, as there is nothing mentioned on their website.

The current suggested retail price for the gluten free Cinnamon Sugar Donut will be $1.89 and $2.39 for the gluten free Blueberry Muffin (US$).
