Available now for pre-order, the Nima portable gluten sensor promises a result showing whether a food contains gluten in just 2 minutes.

It's operation is simple, put a food sample into a testing pod, insert the pod into Nima, and wait 2 minutes; a smile on the display indicates that no gluten is detected. Though it only detects gluten presence of 20 parts per million or more.

6SensorLabs, the manufacturers of the Nima also have versions for peanut and milk testing in development.
